Scholarship Program in Textile Technology Awarded

Within an effort to address shortage of specialized talent and promote sustainable cashmere in Mongolia, Textile Technology Scholarship was presented to 13 students majoring in the textile and cashmere sector at the School of Industrial Technology of the Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST).

According to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Light Industry, despite the annual demand for over 250 engineers in the wool and cashmere sector, fewer than 10 students have chosen to major in this field annually.  

The scholarship program was initiated by UNDP's Sustainable Cashmere in collaboration with the MUST in 2022 and funded by UNDP’s "SDG-Aligned Budgeting to Transform Employment in Mongolia" project, funded by the European Union, for the second year.
